What really worked well is choosing the day and time that worked best for me, and then choosing how I wish to pay, lots of options. When I arrived all I had to do was show my reference number and wait for 45 mins in the lounge area

I used to go to an emissions center, then I would buy my CTPL insurance separately, then go to the LTO, it used to take me a few days and I dreaded the process, but this just took away all the problems, will recommend to friends.

Vehicle Inspection FAQs

MVIC, which stands for Motor Vehicle Inspection Center, is an all-in-one facility for vehicle inspections. These centers conduct official multi-stage vehicle inspections, smoke emission tests, and often host satellite LTO offices on site. This setup allows you to complete your annual vehicle registration with significantly less hassle.

In the Philippines, PMVIC, MVIS, and MVIC refer to different types of vehicle inspection centers and systems. Here's the distinction between them:
  1. PMVIC (Private Motor Vehicle Inspection Center)
    • PMVICs are privately-operated centers authorized by the government to conduct comprehensive vehicle inspections.
    • They offer a full range of tests, including multi-stage vehicle inspections and smoke emission tests.
    • PMVICs often feature advanced testing equipment and automated processes to ensure accurate and thorough inspections.
  2. MVIS (Motor Vehicle Inspection System)
    • MVIS refers to the overall system and set of standards used for inspecting motor vehicles.
    • It encompasses the protocols, guidelines, and equipment specifications that both PMVICs and government-run centers must adhere to.
    • The MVIS aims to standardize vehicle inspections across different centers to ensure roadworthiness and compliance with environmental regulations.
  3. MVIC (Motor Vehicle Inspection Center)
    • MVICs are general vehicle inspection centers that can be either government-operated or privately-run.
    • They conduct official multi-stage vehicle inspections, smoke emission tests, and may include other necessary tests to certify a vehicle’s roadworthiness.
    • Many MVICs now have satellite Land Transportation Office (LTO) offices on-site, facilitating the completion of annual vehicle registration processes more conveniently.
In summary, PMVICs are a specific type of MVIC that are privately managed and part of the broader MVIS, which defines the inspection standards and systems applicable to all inspection centers in the Philippines.

You can complete 3 out of the 4 key steps for your LTO registration at an MVIC. What you will need to purchase to complete your registration is CTPL insurance, which you can purchase on Autoinspection.ph, just click here.

Here is what you can complete at an MVIC center:

Smoke Emission Tests: Tests to ensure your vehicle complies with environmental regulations regarding emissions.

Satellite LTO Offices: On-site LTO offices where you can process your annual vehicle registration, renew your registration, and handle other LTO-related transactions.

It usually takes around 30 minutes to complete the vehicle inspection and another 30 minutes to complete your LTO registration if a satellite office is available on site.
